I made these a few years ago and I've seen heaps of gorgeous variations around the web, but these are still some of my favourite Christmas decorations I've ever made.
Just follow the easy steps below - this is a super fun craft for kids!
- Glass/plastic baubles
- Wooden skewers
- Dish for mixing paints
Tip: look in your bargain bin at your local department store for some baubles on sale!
Take the top hardware off your bauble and put aside in a safe place where it won't get paint on it (things are going to get messy!).
Stick the skewer into them, place in a jar and paint a base layer on your baubles.
Load a wet brush with different colours to your base colour and use a whipping motion to splatter paint across them.
Test the splatter technique on some paper first.
You might want to lay a big sheet down as this is pretty messy!
Once your baubles are dry, place the hardware back on the top and hang on your tree.
Using contrasting colours really make these baubles pop.
These would make a wonderful last minute gift to make tomorrow too.
P.S. I'd love to see the crafts you make, tag #hellohappycrafty so I can see how awesome you are!
